Worldspan Communications Ltd are committed to reducing, recyling and reusing resources.
If you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances)
The RoHS Directive bans the placing on the EU market of new electrical and electronic equipment containing more
than agreed levels of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, PBB and PBDE.
All newly-introduced products on span.com will comply with RoHS.
Products that we have been selling since before RoHS was introduced in July 2006 are not restricted in this way,
but the large majority of them are RoHS compliant in any case.
More information can be found on http://www.rohs.gov.uk and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ROHS
WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment)
The WEEE Directive aims to minimise the impact of electrical and electronic goods on the environment, by
increasing re-use and recycling and reducing the amount of WEEE going to landfill. It seeks to achieve this
by making producers responsible for financing the collection, treatment, and recovery of waste electrical equipment,
and by obliging distributors to allow consumers to return their waste equipment free of charge.
To comply with this directive, we give our customers the following options :
* All customers - you can dispose of your WEEE using your council site, or any Designated Collection Facility
* All customers - bought AFTER 13/8/2005 - you can return your WEEE to Worldspan on a "Like For Like" basis
when purchasing new items, OR arrange disposal yourselves.
* Business customers - bought BEFORE 13/8/2005 - you will need to arrange disposal yourselves.
More information can be found on http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk/weee and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WEEE
Recycling
In our warehouse we always use recycled cardboard boxes & filling packaging materials.
Where possible we reuse materials, so you may receive your order packaged with some slightly unusual filling material !
We then recycle all cardboard that is no longer usable.
In our office we use paper and stationery from recycled and sustainable sources.
We then recycle all unusable paper, metal and plastic materials.
Electricity
We are currently in discussions with electricity suppliers to find the "greenest" source for our power needs.
We also work hard to reduce our lighting, heating, and computer power needs.
